Hazrat Moulana Ahsan Ali R.H, honored with the title "Toti-e-Haq" (Parrot of Truth), was a distinguished scholar, fearless orator, and spiritual personality of Manjhanpur Shareef, Uttar Pradesh, India — a town that became a center of Ahl-e-Sunnat scholarship largely due to his tireless efforts and magnetic personality. His unique title "Toti-e-Haq" was conferred because just as a parrot speaks with clarity, beauty, and repetition, he would proclaim the truth of Islam with such eloquence and persistence that even the most stubborn opponents could not resist the power of his arguments and the beauty of his expression. He received his education from the leading Sunni madrasas of his era, studying under scholars who were themselves students of the great luminaries of Bareilly Shareef.

He mastered Fiqh, Hadith, Tafsir, Aqeedah, Mantiq (logic), and Arabic rhetoric. He was renowned across Uttar Pradesh for his public lectures (Jalsa) that would draw audiences of thousands — he could speak for three to four hours without notes, weaving together Quranic verses, Hadith, poetry, and logical arguments with such skill that listeners would be moved to tears one moment and inspired the next. He participated in numerous public Munazaras (debates) against opponents of the Ahl-e-Sunnat creed.

In one famous debate in Allahabad, his opponent — a well-known Deobandi scholar — was so overwhelmed by his proofs from Sahih Bukhari and Muslim that he fell silent, and the audience erupted in takbeer (Allahu Akbar). He was also a man of deep personal piety — despite his public fame, he would spend the last third of every night in Tahajjud prayer, weeping before Allah SWT. He established a madrasa in Manjhanpur Shareef that produced dozens of scholars who went on to serve communities across UP, Bihar, and Maharashtra.

His annual Urs on the 8th of Jumada al-Thani is observed with scholarly conferences, Fatiha, Quran recitation, and powerful Naat recitals in Manjhanpur Shareef where his students and followers continue his legacy of fearless proclamation of truth.
