Chand Raat before Eid-ul-Adha is the night of the crescent moon sighting that confirms the arrival of the 10th of Dhu al-Hijjah — the day of Eid-ul-Adha. This night carries immense spiritual significance as it falls on the eve of the greatest day of sacrifice in the Islamic calendar. Muslims prepare their Qurbani animals, sharpen their knives following the Sunnah, and spend the night in worship, Dhikr, and Takbeer (Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La ilaha illallahu wallahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar wa lillahil hamd).
The Takbeer-e-Tashreeq begins from the Fajr of the 9th Dhu al-Hijjah and continues until the Asr of the 13th — recited after every Fardh prayer. Families gather in anticipation of the blessed Eid, and the atmosphere is filled with the spirit of sacrifice, devotion, and gratitude to Allah SWT.
