Huzoor Acche Miya R.H was a beloved spiritual personality of the Barkatiyya Sayyid family of Marhera Shareef, Etah district, Uttar Pradesh — the historic seat of the Khanqah-e-Barkatiyya whose spiritual chain connects directly to Hazrat Ghous-e-Azam R.H of Baghdad through generations of Sayyid scholars and saints. He traced his noble lineage through an unbroken chain to Hazrat Imam Hussain R.A and the blessed household of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ — the Barkatiyya family has maintained this sacred trust of spiritual guidance for centuries in Marhera Shareef. His honorific "Acche Miya" (the Good/Noble One) was given by the community as a testament to his extraordinary character — he was so universally loved that even children would run to greet him, and no one who met him ever spoke ill of him.
He was raised in the blessed atmosphere of Marhera Shareef where the daily routine revolves around Quran recitation, Dhikr, scholarly discussions, and devotion to the Prophet ﷺ — an environment that shaped his spiritual personality from infancy. Among his karamaat, it is narrated that he possessed an extraordinary ability to resolve disputes — warring families who had not spoken for years would reconcile after a single meeting with him, as if his very presence dissolved the hatred in their hearts and replaced it with love and forgiveness. He was known for his practice of personally visiting the sick in the community — he would walk to their homes regardless of weather or distance, recite Quran over them, and make dua for their recovery.
Many reported healing after his visits. His devotion to the Prophet ﷺ was the defining feature of his personality — he would weep at the mention of the Prophet's ﷺ name and would observe every Sunnah with such love that watching him was itself a lesson in Prophetic devotion. He played a vital role in maintaining the spiritual traditions of the Khanqah-e- Barkatiyya during his lifetime, ensuring that the daily Dhikr sessions, scholarly gatherings, and community services continued without interruption.
His Wisaal on the 17th of Rabi al-Awwal is commemorated in Marhera Shareef with Fatiha, Quran Khwani, Naat recitals, and gatherings of remembrance attended by devotees from across UP who honor this beloved Sayyid of the Barkatiyya family.
